Diet details.... Can I be doing more?

Hi- I think it depends on what your goal is. Are you trying to lose weight? Are you trying to solely avoid heart disease? Are you simply trying to eat in a more healthy way?
Sounds like many of the changes you have made are fantastic! Stick with it! I have a few suggestions. You might want to purchase a book to help guide you more easily along your path- or check one out from the library. If good overall health is your goal, Andrew Weil has many books out there that I do not consider "fad diet"ish, and are quite popular. He focuses on all around good health- so you can't really go wrong with that.
The only other thing I would suggest, from my own experience trying to lose weight is to cut out the sugar. Gatorade has sugar in it and catsup has a tremendous amount of added sugar in it. You may be able to get a better quality catsup at a health food store- less sugar or no sugar. Or just try a slice of very ripe tomato on your turkey burger. Your taste buds will get used to the less sweet taste and you really won't miss it after a while (as I'm sure you're already noticing with the absence of the soda). I bet you're feeling so much better already. I'm proud of you! :-) Good going on ditching the white bread. Wheat bread is so much better. Treat yourself to some special wheat bread once in a while- some hand crafted bread. Really notice the flavor of it. It is a totally different experience from eating a candy bar, less quick and dirty, but it can be equally as satisfying. You just have to slow down and experience it for what it is.
That's all I have. You sound like you're on your way to getting healthy! Way to go!

it sounds like you are on the right track. give it time to see results...
yr doing some good changes but you need to have a good program to sticke to. try tips and articles on weight loss and exercise programs that will help on this site
you sound like ur doing real good just remember depending on how much you want to lose ,it will take time so don't get disappointed if there is no results right away. also some good pints are there is no carbs, fats or calories in mustered and to exercise regularly, if you gain weight before you lose then you are gaining muscle. -good luck-
best thing for a diet is protien doesnt really matter how much of it you eat because what ever your body doesnt use it gets rid of....now carbs are the thing that make body fat carbs that arent use get stored to get use later aka FAT.... the meal i like to eat the most for body building is chicken, rice and green beans.... and when you walk try to get your heart rate up that will burn more calories
Walking is great but you need to raise your activity level to get your heart rate up. Try doing aerobics to a fun dance beat 20 mins a day. Stop with gatorade, it's full of sugar and really only designed for high impact sports. You also need more fruits and veggies.
