Tortilla Bread?

Question:
I'm starting to get into exercise and a better diet. I'm trying to learn the terminology and know what to and not to eat. I was wondering if tortilla bread is healthier that regular bread. For example, is eating a tuna wrap better for you that eating a tuna sandwich? Or are wraps just a fad with trendy bread?

Answers:
You really need to make sure the bread you are eating is whole grain. Make sure it's first or second ingredient is whole grain _____. Also make sure that your bread's ingredients does not contain any partically hydrogenated oils and sugar(high fructose corn syrup) those ingredients are silent killers, not to mention they make you gain weight. Yes I know it is annoying to have to read the ingredients labels on your food but it is worth it in the long run!

Other Answers:
First look for (whole wheat).
Then look at the carbs and subtract the fiber grams -- this is your net carbs.

There is bread that has 4-5 net carbs which may be bett then tortilla.
Most tortillas are made with white flour and lard or even worse, trans fats. So I would stay away from most of them. However, there are many companies starting to make some really good ones, high in fiber and low in fat. My favorites are made by LaTortilla Factory. They have great flavors - tomato basil, rosemary, garlic - and are made with olive oil.
