The following healthy living recommendations will help you if you’re trying to lose weight, tone up your muscles, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:

*1) Burn more calories then you're consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity minus the Thermic Effect of Food (TEF). A website that explains this formula in more detail and will help you determine how many calories you need to reach or maintain a certain weight is at http://www.primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/library/weight/calsburned.htm

Get an online, desktop, or cell phone diet and fitness calculator. This will allow you to easily calculate the above formula, set goals, log your daily calorie consumption, and register your physical activities.

Set realistic goals for your ideal body weight. Here are two websites that will calculate a suggested body weight:
Adults: http://www.halls.md/ideal-weight/body.htm
Teens/Children: http://www.kidshealth.org/kid/exercise/weight/bmi.html

It is difficult and unhealthy to lose more than one or two pounds per week. There are 3,500 calories in a pound. If you eat 500 fewer calories per day for a week you will lose one pound. If you burn through exercise 500 more calories per day for a week you will lose one pound.

Here are two articles on how to break through a weight loss plateau:
http://www.webmd.com/content/article/86/99147.htm
http://www.webmd.com/content/pages/18/102117.htm

*2) Eat natural and organic foods found on earth versus something created by a corporation to make money. Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.

Do not try fad diets or diet pills. Avoid “High Glycemic Load Carbs” (sugar, pastries, desserts, refined starches such as breads, pasta, refined grains like white rice; high starch vegetables such as potatoes) and drink lots of water. Read this article for more information on high GL Carbs:

*4) Get plenty of sleep. Sleep experts say most adults need between seven and nine hours of sleep each night for optimum performance, health, and safety.

*5) Educate yourself continually on health issues and make a life long commitment to good health. A great free publication is “Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2005”. A reputable test you can take to measure your biological age is at http://realage.com
Look at all areas where you can enhance your health. For example, make improvements in the quality of the air you breathe. Review outdoor air quality forecasts where you live and get an indoor air purifier.

youll find some great weight loss programs and exercises in this article that will help you get the weight reduced and feel better
I've heard of a diet where all you eat is watermelon and you lose a ton of weight.
a lot of husbands don't like their wives going on diets. i read that somewhere. anyways, it's good you're walking. i stopped eating junk food and now i don't like eating them anymore. tell yourself they taste bad and they're not going to help you in anyway. a way to lose weight is walking up and down stairs and jumproping. you don't need to go outside either.
Just eat small portions, cut down on sweets, drink water instead of pop, exercise
try yoga!
Get an exercise video and try to do it everyday. That way, you can still exercise, even if its 100 degrees outside. Try to get some weights and work some weight lifting into your rotuine. That will build muscle, which burns more calories than fat.
Diet and exercise is the trick. Walking is really good for you, an hour a day five days a week could do alot.
Medifast. You are not supposed to exercise at all in the first two weeks or you will burn muscle instead of fat. Surprisingly, I like the program. Lost 23 pounds so far in the first month. I feel better, more energy.

I thought about the surgery, too, but I didn't qualify for the 100 pounds I would have to be overweight and I don't want to gain more just to get the surgery.
drink alot of water and don't eat processed foods. They have alot of junk. I also don't know if you drink alot of pop, but that would be a good thing to get rid of. After I had my daughter I would exersice in the house with her. Just by having her sit on me while I did sit ups. There are all kinds of exersices you can do in the house. Maybe even by a aerobic movie.Good Luck I am sure if you give it time you will be back to (almost) like before baby.
Hey I need to lose weight also if you need some support (on a daily basis) just post another message and let me know. maybe we can help each other! good luck hope to talk to you soon
50 pounds is seriously fat. I am not saying that to be harsh, but you seem to be in denial about what is considered obese. Have you done your BMI Index? See what category you fall into.

I joined a gym recently because I like to walk, too, but it's been too hot. It is much easier to exercise in an air conditioned gym. Most gyms will give you a free pass to test them out, why not go check out a few?
Honey, I feel you on that one! I am in exactly the same position as you. Not too much weight to lose but enough to make me miserable! I did finally try something that I enjoy and it REALLY works... Pilates. Aside from that, all I do is eat whatever I want in small portions and think positively. You can do it girl... I believe in you!
I know exactly how you feel.. i am about 60 pounds over weight and cant seem to lose any weight. I also dont like walking when its so hot out. My husband also excepts me for me but i am depressed about my weight. I wish I could give you advise on how to lose the weight but i dont know. But i wish you the best of luck.
well, have confidence in your self. people love you for what you actually are from within and not how you look . well, further if you have to lose weight, dont plan out for surgury. according to me surgury is a escape, believe me a very painful and tortuous one. further having surgury can affect the time you spend with your children. just plan out a scedule. go out for 1 hour walk in the morning. dont lower your diet ,it will affect your daily metabolism and make you sluggish. rather try to eat same amount of nutritious food. believe within weeks you will find yourself much active, confident, hapier, and ofcourse thin. i hope you will like this. believe me it works without affecting your daily metabolism
Graze more and often,
TRY Hydration therapy,i e treatment with water.

start with 2glass of water early in the morning and then 1 glass every 10 minutes , a total of 10 glasses before taking any breakfast. Then walk as ususal and try to take breafast , if u can. afterwards again take 10 glasses of water same way. That all . it is proven............you will loose weight.
Try a cleansing diet! I tried this and lost 10.5 pounds and 17 inches in 9 days. Then I continued it and lost 25 pounds in 5 weeks. This program works to remove the toxins in the body that are stored in the fat cells. You cannot get rid of the fat cells unless you get rid of the toxins. We get toxins from pesticides, preservatives, fast food additives, chemicals, pollution, smoke etc… I have been on Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Medifast and Atkins. All work great for a few weeks then the weight loss slows to 1 or 2 pounds a week and the motivation drops. This was my first experience with cleansing and it worked wonderful! You can order at 1-877-587-4647. It is not a cheap program, but it works and is worth every penny!
hi

Do not get so worried its easy to loose weight provided you have a good programme to follow this link sure helped me so here goes,
If you are serious about losing weight, the calories in the food you eat should be less than the energy you use. You will have to increase your metabolic rate now, and plan your diet carefully.
Formulate your own weight loss plan and you will lose weight faster. More details available at http://tinyurl.com/m7ckx

all the best
