fasting tips?


Question:
i'm going on a fast for the next week or so. any tips on how to fight the urge to eat?

Why are you fasting? Are you Mahatma Ghandi or something? Eat and get fat, you're American ain't cha? Well than act like one for Chrissakes!!.

Drink water and focus on the reason for your fast. I find it helpful too to read the bible while I am fasting, it actually helps me feel full. I also find it helpful to get busy doing interesting things so I won't think about food so much.
I think u can eat Fruits,seafoods,vegetables. drink fresh juices.
In case you are doing it for dieting reasons, just be aware that the majority of what you lose will be water weight and once the fast is over you will gain it back.
Focus on the task at hand.
If it helps get a bracelet, or a little ball or one of those stress balls. Whenever you think you cant do it, just hold it in your hand and squish it. It helps get your mind off of the hunger.
Or you could put an elastic band around your wrist and twang it every time you get hungry. The mild pain would help get your mind off of the hunger, and back in focus.
If its for prayer, try to stay in prayer and ask God to help you.

If its for dieting, it wont work. Fasting and skipping meals will make you gain weight. You body thinks its starving so it holds on to every bit of food it gets.
