Do NOT drop to 500 calories a day! You will not lose 45 pounds by December, you will be dead. I'm sorry, but food is not your enemy. Processed food and a sedentary lifestyle are. Listen, it sounds wrong, but if you consume too few calories you will stop losing weight, because your body thinks you are starving. My guess is the 500 calorie diet would only last a couple of days, because you will be starving and grumpy. If you do manage to stick to it, you will be malnutritioned and unhealthy, if not dead like I said.
Listen, I understand. I'm trying to lose 25 pounds by December. I'm 25, and I've done a ton of research on how to do it healthily. I recommend Fitness magazine, they have tons of tips, inspiration, exercises and recipes to help you. Go to www.fitnessmag.com. Or a great site is www.caloriesperhour.com - this site has calculators to help you figure out how many calories you need to eat per day - for me (I'm 5'8, 155) I should consume about 2100 if I'm moderately active for MAXIMUM weight loss. If I dropped to even 1200 my body would slow down it's calorie burning, and I would probably even gain weight. I know it sounds weird, but educate yourself before you make such a drastic change.
Healthy weight loss is between 1-2 pound per week. There are 20 weeks before Christmas, so you could healthily lose 40 pounds, which is very close to your goal. You can do it, but it takes VERY hard work and dedication. You have to be dedicated every single day to exercise and eat whole, healthy foods, and not give yourself any excuses to skip a workout or anything. 100 lbs. !?!?!?!?!? unless your 12 thats not healthy. I'm a teacher asistant and my 6th graders weight as much if not more than you
You probably wouldn't be getting enough vitamins with 500 calories..Hope you at least take vitamin pills...or a vitamin drink. Why don't you go on low carb/high protein? or a low fat diet? I lost weight one time by only drinking 2 cokes a day. I lost about 30 lbs..but was really jittery and nervous...lack of vitamins. I DON'T recommend that kind of diet. And it's bad for your teeth and you'll probably get depressed.(without vitamins) I lost 50 lb in 5 mo.on low carb /high protein.but needed to take vitamins with it.
you can very easily, but since you are consuming so little calories, your metabolism will go into starvation mode, and when you start eating normally again (like, after you lose the weight), you will gain back all the weight that you lose, and likely, more. so, don't do this low-cal thing, because you wont keep the weight off. if you excercise and eat healthy, you may lose weight slower, but you will lose it the healthy way and if will be much easier to keep the weight off in the long run.
