I'm short in stature also and I've tried many different diets including calorie counting...I think 10 to 15 lbs ordinarily is a lot of weight to loose in one month on 'traditional' weight watching type diets. BUT I lost that kind of weight 'accidently' without purposing to loose weight AND my family said I never looked so healthy...Please understand I am no 'health nut'. My initial purpose was just to eat healthier..and also because I got a juicer..I started juicing and eating lots of RAW fruits and vegetables, with an emphasizes on the vegetables. Basically, I eat a RAW food DIET ( only cooking a little at dinner). A RAW DIET is hard the first couple of days only then my appetite changed totally... I started feeling really healthy , within 7- 10 days my skin and complexion changed and by the end of the first month I lost close to 15 lbs. and my family says I look younger.
Check out RAW DIET online or 'cookbooks' at the bookstore. Keep in mind you don't have go of the deep end regarding vegetarian , etc.... Here is my an Example of what I eat: I juice 2 carrots and 1/2 grapefruit for breakfast; I eat raw oatmeal mixed with raw pumpkin seed with Vanilla Unsweetened Almond Milk ( tastes great and look at ingredients - very low in calories and sugar, etc.) ; for lunch one piece of Ezekiel Bread ( look in frozen section) with peanut butter , apple and Spinach Salad ; afternoon juice - 2 carrots, 1 cucumbers and pineapple ; Snack - almonds ; Dinner- eggplant with spaghetti sauce, plate of fresh vegetable and a piece of chicken or vegetable shisk kebobs on grill and at night a Dessert - blender smoothie of ice , blueberries and 1/2 banana.
