How can I help my mom lose weight without pissing her off?

Keep soda out of the house, drink water, or milk instead, if you need something, make fresh brewed iced tea, serve with lemon, and plenty of ice.
Offer fresh fruit instead of juices and desserts.
Have a whole grain cereal for breakfast, or even a bowl of oatmeal.
If you have potatoes for dinner do not serve bread.
Have a large salad before dinner (you will eat less), do not just use ice berg lettuce, use greens like spinich, watercress, arugula, and romaine.
Stay away from creamy dressings, use olive oil and wine vinegar.
If you want ice cream, use frozen yougur (edy's slow churn yogurts are pretty good, cappachino chip is great)
Exersise with her, the both of you go out for a .30-/45 minute walk every day or every other day at least.
I'm the mother of a 14 yr old who I'm sure would like to help me get skinny. Problem is, she always talks me into having desserts and pop around the house so we are both going to be in trouble soon. Once in a while, she suggests buying salads and light pasta dishes (that don't leave 2 lbs of leftovers) instead of potatoes and hamburger helper. This makes me feel good because I see that she is being conscious of her own weight. As a mom, her weight is my biggest concern so if she wanted to diet herself, I would sure try to do it along with her. Good luck.
Maybe jog with her, go to gym with her? First it bonds your relationship with your mum, second it helps you to keep fit, and third, your mum gets to lose weight the healthy way. :)
Discuss with her the benefits of eating complex carbs, lean meat, and lots of veggies. It will make her meals low caloried and yet filling and healthy. Go brisk walking with her. It is wonderful for burning body fats.
