There is no evidence in Medline that cleansing helps you lose weight. None. Zero.
We absorb nutrients in our bowels. If there is something in our bowels that isn't moving with regular BMs, removing it is likely to help our bodies absorb *more* nutrients from what we eat.
I'm of the theory that your bowels return to their prior state within hours, and something like First Cleanse is worthless.
Without knowing what her current eating habits are, it's impossible to tell whether she needs to change them. There are studies indicating that most of us need more fiber.
You can get more fiber by drinking that gritty orange fluid, but I kinda figure that eating a bowl or two of shredded wheat every day is sounder practice. Our bodies know what to do when we eat food. When we eat non-foods, our bodies may get all confused.
