Does Running/walking reall burn fat?

Question:
I don't care for the strength, im focusing more on one thing at a time.

Does it reall burn fat? Slim down?

Answers:
The number I've seen is 100 calories mile.

Faster exercise also builds more muscle, which keeps the metabolism higher after exercise and throughout the day.

Your muscles keep an energy reserve called muscle glycogen which is a carbohydrate. It typically provides about 20 minutes of energy. When you use it up, your body will replace it by converting fat to glycogen. If you keep exercising, you'll be using more fat as energy while you continue past that 20 minutes.

We use fat for energy all the time, just usually its slower than when we exercise. Eat too much, and you store more than you use. Store more, get bigger. Use more, get slimmer.
Walking is best for burning fat. When you run, the high energy demands draw glucose out of your liver for energy. When you walk (briskly), it stimulates a different process where the body burns fatty acids for energy.
Well, last year greek scientist discovered that a brisk walk is more beneficial to health than jogging. But yea it does, same with playing sports. I like to see it like my metabolism gets hungery when i start sweating so it 'eats' fat. Although you don't neccessarily need to sweat.
