Question:
i am trying to gain a bit of healthy weight using a diet of approx. 17% protein 27% fat and 56% fat. However to get up to that 56% carbs i am having to go over the daily recomended servings of grains. is it bad/ possible to eat too many grains? does it REALLY matter where your calories come from? or just that you are getting them (i.e. 400 calories of ice cream vs. 400 calories of broccoli) thanks!
Answers:
Going over the recommended number of grains isn't bad at all. You need to eat more of everything to gain weight, right? Carb sources are great for you, and every serving you put into your system counts. The only way that would be bad is if you were a person that ate only grains.
Calories are very important for people trying to gain weight, but you don't want to get too much saturated fat (found in cakes, ice cream a.k.a. good tasting food lol) into your body, because too much saturated fat causes health complications and a fatty stomach. By the end of the day if you feel you can eat a little more, go ahead and have some low-fat ice cream.
