I need suggestions for what to eat on a diet!? HELP!?
Question:
As of right now, my eating habits are horrible. I basically eat anything I want. I have ice cream & chips every day. I eat out a lot. I never get like value meals at mcdonalds but I'll get like 2 tacos at taco bell or a roast beef at arbys or a ranch-filled, cheesy sub at subway. I love soup and I eat a lot of those creamy, cheesy ones. I eat a ton of cheese and mayo and ranch.
Ok so thats my horrible diet. My point is that I eat crap right now so its not like I need to go extreme low-carb or anything to lose weight, right? I just need to figure out low-fat healthy snacks to eat. Im confused about veggies - some ppl say carrots are bad, Im confused about fruits - some say bad some say good. I say, they must be better than what I eat now right?
I just need food alternative suggestions. THANKS

I suggest not even keeping junk food in the house so that you aren't tempted by it. I try to keep fruits and veggies around to snack on instead. It seems to help me. I also keep a food & exercise log at fitday.com (it is a free site). It has helped me out because it counts calories. I had some pretty high calorie totals the first week I was on there. It was a wake-up call for me to watch my portions.

Ok, you are right..your diet isn't too great right now..lots of fats and carbs. Try salads a few days a week for lunch., fruits and cereal for breakfast and a balanced (protein, veggies, carbs) for dinner.
Drink water..lots! Try some diet sites for more info. Gotta pull back on the eating out..those foods are loaded with fat!
You don't have to go extreme low carb..but you do have to stop the extreme high fat. Try this site

In addition to your horrible diet:
Eat 5 fruits/vegetables a day. Drink 6 glassses of water daily. Walk 30 minutes everyday. Drink 2 glasses of milk or soy with calcium if you are a vegetarian or lactose intolerant. Take a multivitamin.
Corn and peas have alot of sugar, don't eat only carrots, but carrots are fine. Broccoli, brussell sprouts, spinach, kale and any dark green leafy vegetables are very healthy for you.
Better not to change drastically, just add a few changes to what you are already doing. Remember to drink first, eat the vegies first, before the junk food, then you won't eat so much of the fatty, greasy, salty foods. The weight will just fall off without feeling like you are missing all the foods you like.
Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%.
Chew each morsel at least 32 times. Do not touch articles of food or the cutlery in between. This will activate ur body to generate strong signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals.
Take light exercises and brisk walks (minimum 20 min duration) regularly preferably twice a day.
U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time. Do not be in a hurry. It is however to be noted that one cannot change the shape or size of different parts of the body.
Just eat only complex carbs, lean meat, and lots of veggies. It will make your meals low caloried and yet filling and healthy.
Do brisk walking. They are great for burning body and tummy fats.
I am on low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein and a hour brisk walk 5 times a week, and I have lost 31lbs and gain better health. I am now maintaining my 108lbs for more than a year.
