Am i over-weight?

Question:
i am 14 5'6 and weigh 165 pounds, am i over weight?

Answers:
Unfortunately yes.

Your BMI (body mass index) is 26.628.

For your height AND age, a healthy BMI ranges from 15.8 to 23.3 .

Which means you should weigh at most 143lbs for your height.

Try to exercise more and eat healthy, and the rest should follow. Don't worry about it too much, you're still young and growing. The only true way to know if you're really overweight is to see your doctor for a more precise BMI calculation (muscle weighs more than fat) and to out-rule hereditary contributions. If you make healthy habits now while you're young, you should outgrow it.
No. Who wants to look like Nicole Ritchie
no! People.. stop asking these ridiculous questions!
YOU ARE NOT OVERWEIGHT!

Don't be so worried about your weight. What's important is how you feel about yourself.
ya if your 14 thenya u are. im 5'7" and done even weigh that much. if its all in muscle then no your not
ignore c02z.. he is probably anorexic. you are not over weight.
not if your a dude
I THINK IF ANYTHING YOU MIGHT JUST NEED TO EXERCISE A LITTLE. YOU WOULD PROBABLY LOSE 15 POUNDS OR MORE IF YOU WOULD EXERCISE ON A DAILY BASIS.
Your Body Mass Index is 26.6 which qualifies you as overweight, meaning your weight isn't proportional to your height, so either lose some weight or get taller.
Well if you want to know the truth then you need to ask your doc. He will be able to tell you if you weight and height are proportionate with each other. If they are then you probable just need to work on your self esteem. Weather your over weight or not your a beautiful young women. No matter what any ones says! If some one is telling you this then don't listen to them!!
yes, i checked, go to this website and see for ur self!

yes
If you are a large boned 5'6" young lady, then I would say no. I am 5'7" and large boned, so I wouldn't look heavy at all, at 165 pounds.

Try not to be overly concerned about your weight, unless you are eating a very unhealthy diet. If you're a healthy eater and exercise and I stress exercise.then I would not worry.

I've always been heavy, so in order to keep my weight down, I MUST exercise. I feel that's the real key. Wouldn't hurt to hold your head up high and be happy with WHO you are RIGHT NOW. Works wonders for your self-esteem.

P.S. Most people do not take into account your bone structure...when they look at pounds. So please do not let other answers that blast you about your weight; put a damper on who and what you are. Be happy being YOU!
Wow, you're taller than me O.o but I'm only 12 lol. Anyways, you're a lil bit overweight. Your BMI is 26.6 and 25 - ? means you're a little bit overweight. Average is 18.6 - 24.9 so just exercise! Good luck.
Your current Body Mass Index (BMI) is 26.6. This is slightly higher than the normal bmi for your height. However, if you are athletic, muscular, or have a heavier bone structure, you are still a healthy weight. In addition, because of your age, you may be headed into a growth spurt, so you may put on weight before you get the height to go with it. Just cut down on the chips, increase the fruit and the water, skip the soda, and you will be fine.

"BMI is a standardized ratio of weight to height, and is often used as a general indicator of health. The "normal" BMI for an adult woman of your height is 18.5 to 24.9. This translates to a healthy weight range of 115 to 154 lbs. However, BMI does not take body composition into account. A weight above this range could still be considered healthy if your percentage body fat is less than average."
I grew up overweight so let me ask you. Do you excercise? Muscle weighs more than fat so if you are good and solid, don't worry. Continue to exercise if you do and you have to cut out the junk food (that is still my problem). Don't consider yourself dieting, you need to make a life style change and just consider yourself a healthy eater. Don't even consider making yourself throw up or take laxatives. Believe me, I know. Good Luck. Just be healthy!!
you are kinda. but don't listen to what people say, its not whats on the outside its whats on the inside.
