Exercises with torn knee?

Question:
I've torn something in my knee, Meniscus I think, and the doctor says I need crutches and i have to keep my weight off it

the problem is all my exercise routines involve my legs, I do alot of walking and Tae Kwon Do, I'm a large fellow but I've stuck to my routine for a few months and it's working wonders, I don't want to go under again due to my knee injury

what kind of exercise can I do that doesn't require my legs?

Answers:
a greta thing to do is swimming, as your knee gets stronger you can start more running

but swimming will not only provide adequate exercise but also help in rehabing your knee
well thats a good thing that your getting excercise to recover with a torn knee, but everything requires legwork in my book
It may help if you stick to upper body workouts including crunches. There is a machine that you put between your legs and pusch it together. It works the thigh muscles but doesn't use your knees as much so you may want to try that.
