Start slow, take walks everyday for about 30-40 minutes. maybe buy some Taebo videos to make it fun. Start eating right. Try to only eat unprocessed foods(fruits, vegetables, lean meat, eggs) You need to realize that we eat to live, and that we don't live to eat. Food is fuel, not fun. Fat loss is a war. If you don't get off your butt now it's only going to get bigger, and before you know it you will have diabetes. Do you wanna look like you do now when you go to Senior prom a few years down the road? College? If you don't get eating right and excersize into your habits now, how do you expect to do it when you have a much busier life? If you have specific questions send me a message. But please don't bother if you're not seriously ready to get into gear. I love helping people but it really makes me mad when they quit after I tell them how it is because they realize that it's a long hard road.
Go on a low fat diet, eat alot of protein and fruits. Drink only water, no sugar or soda. for exercising use the elliptical machine, oe bicycle, run or get an aerobics dvd.
dang 30 pounds, um just eat fruits, cut down on your calories, drink water, and youll lose alot of weight
cut the junk and bike.
biking is 500 calories an hour.
eat only natural things. LOTS of fruits and veggies too, as they will fill you up quickly because their water content is very high.
and don't give up! remember that all things must pass.
Losing weight is a simple equation: if you burn more calories than you eat, the weight will come off. Start off by estimating how many calories you burn each day using the calorie calculator http://straighthealth.com/pages/tools/ca... This will give you an idea of how many calories to eat. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. To lose 1 pound per week you need to create a calorie deficit (burn more than you eat) of 500 calories per day. To lose 2 pounds a week, you have to double the deficit to 1000 calories per day. You can achieve this by eating less, exercising more or a combination of both.

I'm a woman who is 5'4", and I've also wrestled with being overweight for much of my life.
In my experience, especially if you have problems with starch or sugar cravings, it's best to get on an eating plan which includes enough good protein and lowers your carbs. Stay away from sugar in any form, (this includes starches), especially if you are dealing with cravings related to sugar.
If you stick to healthy proteins, lower carb fruits and vegetables and drink lots of water, you could actually lose weight fairly quickly. Actually, drinking at least 6-8 8 ounce glasses of water is the closest thing to a "quick fix" in weight loss. While you might feel bigger the first couple of days that you do it, you'll lose weight faster after those first few days.
Get lots of fiber from your food! (Many low carb fruits and vegetables are also good sources of fiber.) I find that eating a selection of my veggies raw is really helpful. Actually, I eat green beans raw, and find that really works for extra roughage.
Good luck!
