Should I walk Barefoot on my treadmill?
Question:

Walking and running barefoot is very healthy for your feet, as long as you switch gradually to give your feet time to adjust & the soles to toughen. Contrary to popular opinion, feet do not need support; a survey held among people in Asia who never wore shoes included many rikshaw coolies, who ran the streets barefoot all day long, and these guys had very few foot problems, far less than Western folks with all their fancy footwear! Also take a look at the sites below about barefoot running.
i think with shoes cuz like the pressure might hurt ur spine.. i think its bad for you if u run barefoot...
I did it once on my treadmill. My feet were sore the next day, so I use shoes. I guess it's just preference. Talk to your doc if your not sure. But I would say wear shoes, better support = better workout.
You should use it with shoes. I use the treadmill often and don't see using it without.
Definitly try barefoot. Sheriem is correct about the health benifits associated with running /walking barefoot. In general, being barefoot promotes healthy development of musculature in the feet and legs, while excessive reliance on shoes tends to promote atrophy and weakness in those same muscles. This suggests that overdependency on shoes can have serious consequences. A study published in the September 2006 issue of Arthritis and Rheumatism found that “modern shoes may exacerbate the abnormal mechanics of lower-extremity osteoarthritis.” Researchers concluded that maybe it was time to re-evaluate our daily walking programs,
presumably to include time for walking barefoot.

The answer before about thier feet being sore showes that the muscles in thier feet were week and needed the workout. Its normal for any muscle group to get sore after a workout. remember to give them a chance to rebuild after working out and they will develop very well.
