How many hours a week do you work is it worth it?

Question:

Answers:
Personally I try and split my time. My dad worked 80+ hours a week, as a result, while retiring young, missed most of my childhood. I won't do that to any child I have. Also remember the saying, work hard, play hard, and live for today, not tomorrow because tomorrow may never come. A friend of mine from high school died when he was 29! Life can do many things, if all you do is work with the hope of what might be, then you could fail. But at the same time don't forget about tomorrow either. You must balance work and life, get out of balance and one suffers. I've seen it way too much.
80+ hours a week. i have no life but i'll be retired by 50. i have no debt, car/truck payment, or mortgage. i just turned 40 but when i do stop working i'l be young and fit enough to enjoy the all the hard work i have put in.
rz1971- i am divorced and my sons live on the other side of the country. i have them out to visit 3 times a year. they will be 18 when i'm 50 and they are going to have a university education. when they are 18 i will be retired and be able to spend as much time as i can with them. making the best out of a poor situation is what i do.
About 35 hours a week. I'm 46, cut the amount of hour I work and I wish I did it years ago. It's not that big of an adjustment financially.
