Are soup diets bad for you?

Question:
Ok...I'm wanting to lose about 10-15 pounds and I love soup...and a lot of soups don't have that many calories. So would it be effective to eat a breakfast like oatmeal and a piece of fruit, a lunch of soup, and maybe even a dinner of either another soup or something else low calorie?

I heard that soup diets work really well for many people so i was wondering if any of ya'll had your own input on this...

Answers:
If the soup is loaded with veggies, and very low sodium it could work. Home made soup would be best.
The best way to lose weight is to eat lower calorie healthy food and get some exercise!
no because soup is just a base. Mabye have it for lunch and dinner sometimes but u will need to eat other foods apart from soup.
You can make soup with low fat, low sodium broth and add whatever you like to them...just remember to have a protein like tofu, egg white or even a meat...I eat soups all the time and I get great results...do a lot of cardio and stay away from sugars, fats, and salt...you'll do fine!
