I am trying to lose weight but don't know where to draw the line about cutting down on food?
Question:
I am so hungry. Should I eat again before retiring? How do I know how much food is too little? I don't want to gain weight, but I don't want to feel so hungry.
What is the best way to tell how much you should eat, and when to stop?
Answers:
you need to eat. eat like you normally would dont ever be hungry...my best advice is always "if it doesnt come from the ground dont eat it." Examples..dont eat chips and bagels, muffins, sodas.all of that...lighten up on the bread and eat more wraps with sandwhiches...most foods have light alternatives..light milk, light yogurt, light pancake mix.dont be hungry its not worth it...remember you are a human being..not far from any other species on this earth...feed yourself
Try incorporating the Glycaemic Index into your eating plan is surprisingly easy.
Eating a lot of high GI foods can be detrimental to your health because it pushes your body to extremes. This is especially true if you are overweight and sedentary. Switching to eating mainly low GI carbs that slowly trickle glucose into your blood stream keeps your energy levels balanced and means you will feel fuller for longer between meals.
o Low GI diets help people lose and control weight
o Low GI diets increase the body's sensitivity to insulin
o Low GI carbs improve diabetes control
o Low GI carbs reduce the risk of heart disease
o Low GI carbs reduce blood cholesterol levels
o Low GI carbs can help you manage the symptoms of PCOS
o Low GI carbs reduce hunger and keep you fuller for longer
o Low GI carbs prolong physical endurance
o High GI carbs help re-fuel carbohydrate stores after exercise

I used to drink 1/2 glass of water when I got hungry. If the hunger returned within about 15 minutes, I eat; otherwise I wait.
my advice, eat 3 balanced meals and 2 snacks a day, consisting foods from all food groups. this will prevent you from feeling hungry and will reduce your chances of binging (eat lots). if you want to lose weight, incorporate a healthy amount of exercise into your lifestyle. the average woman needs 1500-2000 cals (at least) everyday. your body will lack the nutrients if you continue to eat such a low amount of food.
consult a dietitian/nutritionist for further guidance...
Try low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein, and exercise. The foods are low caloried, and yet filling and healthy. Your body tend to regulate your food intake and you will find yourself eating what you need, and yet lose weight.
It is my lifestyle now. I am on low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein and a hour brisk walk 5 times a week, and I have lost 31lbs/14kg and gained better health. I am now maintaining my 108lbs/49kg for more than a year, with more fruits and complex carbs.
Details such as my experience, meals, recipes, foods to buy, reading labels, walking as an exercise and to shape the body etc etc, are in my blog.
