How can I slim down my calves?

To all those personal trainers out there - Please help!!

I really really want to know how I can slim down my calves, there they not extremely bulky but I'm not happy with them. I've been told to do leg raisers - standing on the edge of stairs and raising my body till I'm on my tip-toes help burn fat in the calves and will slim the calf muscle...Does that exercise actually help?? I tried it for a week but I think it's actually making them bigger!! I stretched my calves twice a day for 3 months and I think that made some difference, but I think it's stop working now.what else can I do at the gym/home to help??

I would really appreciate some professional advice. Thanks a million!!

You need to stop working the calves directly with calve raises, you're just making them bigger.

Low weight - high repetition is the way to tone. Calves raises are high weight - low rep, so they build muscle size instead.

Try spending time running.
when I exercise mine bulk up so I don't know that you can really...I thin we are sometimes stuck with what we have! I know surgeoms won't do liposuction on lower legs because of the main vessles in them, too much risk of serious clot problems.
haha. by working out ur calves doing calf raises they are only getting stronger and bigger.
Slim down...big calfs are genetic. Toe raisers will tone them making them bigger or at least more defined.. Sorry but look at your parents if they have big calfs so will you
i have always wanted bigger calves ..i like it it gives the leg shape and looks good.
unless you lose muscle mass i dont think you can...your lucky lol..give them too me...
Vanity. Big calves mean strong legs... Why would you want weak legs? People complain about having to sit above the airplane's wing... How would they like it if the airplane had no wings?
Foot raises only build them more. Try more stretching and yoga stretching.
Spot-reduction is a myth. You cannot just reduce your calves by just working on the area till your leg grows tired. If you want to slim your calves, do the exercises that you said WITH your overall workout and of course, the proper diet.

p.s. Lunges are also another way to tone your legs.
