What are some motivators that make people want to lose weight?
Question:
Answers:
For me, I kept telling myself for the past few months that I was going to lose weight! But one day I saw a picture of myself and I was like, "Oh my God, have I really gained that much weight!?" It was outrageous. That motivated me, and then I sat down and wrote out all the reasons I wanted to lose weight.
Some things on the list?
*help improve my self esteem *feel healthier *have more energy *etc.
Some people want to lose weight to live longer, to feel good about themselves, to feel healthier and not as tired, to not get illnesses such as diabetes or heart disease, to fit clothing better, etc...
If you want to know how to stay motivated, that's a tough one. I'm still working on that. One thing that motivates me is the doughnut shop next door to the gym I go to. When I drive past and see all of the grossly overweight people going in and out of that store I am motivated to NOT let myself get like that!
my wife got a job and lost a whole pant size
the job has made her attitude go up and she likes the change in her weight...
take a picture of yourself naked and look at it when you crave unhealthy foods. good luck!
conscious eating - tell them they can eat whatever they want (except for a LOT of sugar), just in moderation (and tell them to move around for 15 minutes a day and they will do it).
This is especially true in regard to obese people who have 80 to 100 pounds to lose. Cause chances are they have 3 problems.
1. They don't exercise
2. They eat junk and fast food
3. they eat double to triple the amount of food a human is suppose to eat. They are the ones who normally order the appetizer, the salad, the entre, and the desert and they eat it all!
Conscious eating is deffinitely a motivator cause they normally can't tackle all three problems at one time. And they usually have other problems such as emotional eating problems and they NEVER listen to their bodies. They want to change but this will encourage them because they will drop weight and they will increase the healthy eating once they fell better about themselves.
Google "conscious eating" or try dietless.com - not affiliated with them (nor do i benefit from you looking at thier site), i just thought there site was really informative.
Hopes this helps you come up with idea...
