Anyone Doing Weight Watchers Currently?

Question:
My mom said she did weight watchers years ago and lost 50lbs but it consisted of eating a lot of weird things etc... She said she just recently restarted it and the plan has changed and it is sooo much better. She said it was so easy and it didn't require you to eat strange etc just to lose the weight. She said so far it has been doing awsome! I just wanted to get some input from some other people who are trying it currently and wanted to know what they thought about it and if it would be worth the money.

Answers:
I've never done the version your mom originally did, but I have seen the program details and yes there was a lot of wierd stuff in some of those old plans.

I am a 6 year lifetime member and leader. I mostly follow the points plan, but do the core plan at different times. One isn't better than the other but most people naturally tend to like one better than the other. I like the capability and convenience to be able switch back and forth on them as my lifestyle can be dramatically different. I travel at times for my company and I find the ablility to switch from one plan to the other one is what keeps me sane and on track.

I also find that attending my weekly meeting (since I am a leader I am leading it) keeps me on track too. Lifetime members only have to attend once a month, but even if I stop leading I'll probably continue the weekly meetings.

I started with the online program and did very well on it, but when an at work meeting started where I work, they needed one more person to get the meeting so I decided to attend. I was so impressed by the leader I decided I wanted to do that as well.

The plan works if you work the plan. The biggest single reason for failure I see is not journalling your daily food intake. It's much to easy to fool yourself in what you are and aren't eating when you don't journal. After the first week or two it just comes easier because we are all creatures of habit and tend to eat the same things over and over - so we learn those points and can stop calculating them or looking them up.

Good luck and you'll do great!!
It definitely works and you can eat ANY foods you want in moderation. It's all about counting calories, fat and fiber now- you can even eat out. I think it is definitely worth the money.
My friend has lost loads on it - and she eats normal food!! No messing around counting calories, just seem to have to get used to recognising the correct portion sizes. And exercise plays a large part in weight loss too!
It is definetely worth the money it is very easy and you can lose a lot of weight.
