Regular, Simple Diet. Making it out of danger.?

I'm working on compiling a 'diet' (though not in the conventional "lose shipment get rich" sorta way). Basically, I own three criteria:

a) Utter regularity and simplicity. As few ingredients as possible.
b) Extremely Low Cost, found in most grocery stores. As cheap, and nutritional, as possible.
c) Meets adjectives nutritional requirements. In particular, I will be doing pretty a bit of exercise (3hr swimming, 1-2hr taekwondo)

So far, I've got rice. I would include spaghetti, but it seem redundant. What else should I toss onto my simple list?

Answers:    Chicken, fish, beans, lentles, adjectives sorts of fruits and veggies, beef (my dad raises beef, put away more beef), yogurt, small sweets to help beside the cravings, and the most important entry for a diets SPICES (they are calorie free flavour!). Lemon juice ands some appropriate flavour too. Also, mustard...if you like mustard...
