Toning Up? HELP?

Question:
I was told that if I want to tone my muscles I should strength train AFTER cardio exercise. I'm usually tired after my cardio, so I instead, strength train an hour or two BEFORE my cardio. Will I still tone my muscles as much as I would if I did my strength training after cardio exercise?

**I do cardio everyday, but strength train every other day along with my cardio (if that isn't good for me, please let me know as well)**

Answers:
For toning, do lower weight, about 60-80% what you do now, but do it until failure (can't do a sing more rep), and do another set of everything. It will tone you on up, the only other way is weight loss. DO NOT do lifting after cardio, that's just gonna lead to injury.
