Why aren't I losing weight?!?
Question:
So I've been working out at the gym 3-4 days a week for the past 1.5 months. 30 minutes of cardio and weight lifting alternating arms and legs. I'm eating about half of what I did before and introduced fruits and a few veggies into my diet (I never used to eat produce at all)I cut out soda. I went off of the birth control and I still haven't lost a single pound. I've lost .3% body fat. That's POINT 3 % None of my clothes fit! I don't know what I'm doing wrong. If I snack on fruit, I don't even feel like i ate anything! It's driving me nuts. I'm 21 and I've been 150lb. for the past 10 years and all of the sudden I'm 180. They say it takes you just as long to take it off as it took to put it on, right?
So how am i losing 30lb. in 1 month?
Answers:
Are you getting muscles? Your muscles weigh too! :)
And WHEN and HOW you eat what you eat is as important as WHAT and HOW MUCH you eat.
For instance, eating fruits at night isn't as good for your weight as eating them in the morning/afternoon.
When you wake up in the morning and before you eat a meal, drink a glass of water as a wake up call for your body. Exercise if possible before meals to increase your metabolism and drink green tea 30 minutes after your meals.
Oolong/Wulong tea is also great for weight loss.
Oatmeal is good meal too because it makes you full and you STAY full. :)
Sleep early and well, don't sleep less or more.
Studies show that enjoying your workouts help too.
Goodluck!
Losing weight is a simple equation: if you burn more calories than you eat, the weight will come off. Start off by estimating how many calories you burn each day using the calorie calculator http://straighthealth.com/pages/tools/ca... This will give you an idea of how many calories to eat. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. To lose 1 pound per week you need to create a calorie deficit (burn more than you eat) of 500 calories per day. To lose 2 pounds a week, you have to double the deficit to 1000 calories per day. You can achieve this by eating less, exercising more or a combination of both.

I don't think you can do it in a month but if you eat healthy meals like you are, eat an apple 15 min before each meal, drink lots and lots of water, and run at least 2 miles per day (its better if you do more) you should be able to lose 15. I did in 3 1/2 weeks.
it definately takes longer to take off then put on. i am the same way, up the cardio because if you keep your heart rate in the target range longer you will burn more calories. birth control weight is so hard to lose anyway. weight training will build the muscle so you may not lose pounds but you will tone up and build muscle and lose body fat. eat more food that boost your metabolism to.
It is a headache to count calories, carbs, fats, proteins and points. I don't know how people do it when they eat out!
Just eat only complex carbs, lean meat, and lots of veggies. It will make your meals low caloried and yet filling and healthy. Reduce your fruits until you reach goal weight.
Do brisk walking. They are great for burning fats.
I am on low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein and a hour brisk walk 5 times a week, and I have lost 31lbs and gain better health. I am now maintaining my 108lbs for more than a year.
Details such as my experience, snacks, meals, recipes, walking as an exercise and to shape the body etc etc, are in my blog.
