What are the benefits to cutting red meat from diet?


Question:
I read a magazine article about how difficult it is for our bodies to digest red meat. So? I'm not trying to be sarcastic. I really do want to understand. We want to avoid or cut down on red meat because..

If I were to cut red meat, would it improve my blood pressure readings? Eyesight? Weight? What?

I'm curious about this. I could cut out eating red meat in a second. I like a steak or big fat burger from time to time but it's not anything that I crave. Just wondering what the benefits of cutting it completely out would be.

Of course I would ask my doctor if I had an appointment anytime soon but wouldn't want to make a special appointment just for this question. Maybe there's a nutritionist out there who can shed some light.

Cattle are fed grain, which is unnatural for them to eat. Environmentally, they need a great deal of water to be raised, and their urine/feces pollute waterways.

If you like steak and burgers, why not cut down on the number of days in a week you have them, and on your portion size? A serving the size of a deck of cards is what's recommended for protein for a meal.
