When you do not have enough sugar in your blood your cells go hungry and your body wants to sleep to conserve energy.

I feel like this after eating things like lasagne and spag bol, the conclusion that i have come to is that its everytime i eat alot of carbs (pasta, spaghetti etc).
My doc says to eat the wholemeal variety, so i am trying that!
Partly because, particularly after a big meal a large amount of blood is diverted away from other areas to the bowel, in order for digestion to take place. This is one of the many reasons that the Spanish siesta is a good idea.
