How much does weight watchers cost to join and to maintain?
Question:
Answers:
How much it costs depends on what program you chose and which payment options are available to you. Different territories have different payment plans.
You may be able to get the Monthly Pass program (not available in all areas). For $39.95 per month you have unlimited access to meetings and full access to their website.
$29.95 (I think) monthly, can get you access to the online (aka website only program). You have access to full program/plan details, message boards, weight tracker, and the recipe database. You do not have access to meetings.
For a join fee (usually around $30) and weekly payments of $10 to $15 per week you can have access to the live meeting option. You weigh in on the first day of the week you attend (Sunday thru Saturday is how a WW week runs) and then you can attend as many meetings during that week as you want for free.
There are also pre-payment meeting plans. The price may vary depending on the territory. In my territory, if you do pre-pay, you do not pay the join fee, but you pre-pay for either a 6 week or a 10 week program. You recieve coupons to turn in every week as you weigh. Ours is 6 weeks for $76 or 11 weeks for $110.
If you miss a week on any of the meeting only plans above, you still owe for that week, unless it would be cheaper to rejoin. Think of it like paying for a college class.
When you reach your goal weight, you continue to pay for 6 more weeks during the maintaince stage. At the end of 6 weeks if you are no more than two lbs above goal weight or less, you make lifetime and do not pay for any meetings unless you are more than 2 lbs above your goal weight.
Points are based on a calculation using total calories, total fat grams, and total fiber grams to calulate the point value of food. Your personal points daily target is based on a number of factors including your height, weight, sex, age, activity level etc.
You never have to buy any food, supplements, etc from Weight Watchers. You learn how to eat real food.
I'm a six year lifetime member and leader. I lost 40 lbs 6 years ago and have successfully kept it off. It's been one of the easiest things I ever did, because I didn't have to give up anything I really loved. I just had to learn to either have it less often, less of it, or find a new way to fix it that was healthier.

It varies depending on your location and any promotions they are running at the time. Weekly fees run ten to fifteen dollars, depending on your franchise. I think the joining fee is around $20. You can get lower weekly fees sometimes by prepaying.
Actually, if you go to weightwatchers.com, there's a link there where you can visit a meeting for free. (You can also use their message boards there for a lot of support and free information.
