Sweating is because your body is too hot. Losing calories has to do with expending energy. Usually, they go hand in hand like if you run real fast, you will lose calories fast and sweat fast. Sitting there in the sun won't do anything for losing calories. And if you're walking at a slow pace, you will still use calories but maybe not sweat at all.
Sweating is water weight and you can easily put that back on.. so sweating is like a temporary weight loss.. to lose weight permenantly you need to diet and cardio to burn fat
You actually burn more calories in the winter because your body needs more energy to maintain it's body temperature. Fat loss has nothing to do with heat or sweat, that is just water weight.
i wouldn't do that because of heat stroke and i don't think it makes a diffrence because your sweating anyway but you'll sweat more (and possibly get heat stroke) in the florida sun for an hour. but the only diffrence i think is the water weight from the sweat. sweating itself doesn't really burn calories.

Getting your heart rate up is a good indication that calorie burning is taking place...I live in Florida also though, and can relate to the heat issue (but then it's been worse elsewhere in the country).
Sweating is just your body trying to cool itself off. So yes you will sweat more outside rather than inside on the treadmill. But everyone must know that burning calories is done doing everything! You burn calories while you sleep, drive your car, watch t.v., etc. So the question is, what is your overall goal? Are you wanting to lose body fat? If so, than don't "diet", you just need to properly fuel your body throughout the day, and drink plenty of water. Once your body gets enough water, it will release the water it has stored because it knows it is getting enough water on a continual basis. Also eat every 3-4 hours throughout the day! And don't go without eating at all, wghen you do this your body eats lean muscle tissue first, than fat. So you lose weight but its all muscle! Any more questions about this stuff message me!
Yo do burn more calories in the hot then you do inside a much cooler area but you have to consider a lot of factors. If you run inside a cool area for 5 miles at an 8 minute per mile pace and do the same outside in the hot, you will burn more outside in the hot. The main reason you burn more has to do with body adjustments. For one, for the normal person, respiration rates heighten more rapidly when the air is hot - this in itself causes your body to work harder (i.e. burn more calories) than if you maintained the cooler condition respiration rate. Likewise, perspiration rates occur more quickly and more significantly in the heat and since your body has to put effort toward this, your body will burn more calories. I have no idea how significant the extra calorie burning would be. However, keep in mind that most average athletes may have difficulty performing at the same pace in the hotter conditions so slower paces may cancel out some of the extra calories burned due to the heat.
