Answers:
In the end, sugar is sugar is sugar. Fruit sugars break down more slowly, and fruit contains nutrients, but that doesn't mean you can eat 20 pieces or fruit, and drink 5 fruit smoothies a day. Any sugar spikes your insulin, and too much means you get fat. It's not a matter of calories, it's a matter of insulin locking the "fat burning" response due to high sugar levels.
No, fruits are no fattening.. whoever told you they were are mistaken.
sugar is not fat
True, fruits do contain a lot of sugar, but they require a lot of bodily energy to digest them, so they have virtually no caloric value. Also, fruits provide vitamins. Anyone saying fruit is bad for you is just sabotaging your diet.
the sugar in fruits is not the same as in junk foods. eat all the fruits you want. fruits are rich in fiber and vitamins.
Anything in excess is bad for you. Fruits are not bad and you can have 2-3 servings a day! You could probably have more if you cut out things like milk (which also has a lot of sugar), etc. They are good for you and provide more benefit than not.
