Are any types of protein powder necessary to become "buff"?

Question:
I recently went to VitaminWorld, and I was really intimidated by the amount of protein powders and all the different vitamins they have in them. I have just began body-building, but just to look good and stay fit, not for competition. Is protein powder really necessary to have a good-looking body, or can I do fine all-natural? Are there any negative side effects to any protein powders?

Answers:
No negative sides from protein powder in most people unless your allergic to something they put in it (very rare).

Its not absolutely necessary to use a powder, but it does help. You could eat a protein/carb meal after your workout and get very similar results to protein powder, and most bodybuilders will take the powder and have a protein and carb meal after.

It just makes it easier to get the protein you need rather then having to eat a couple steaks after a workout everyday.

If you were to only purchase one type of powder, get any WHEY PROTEIN powder, its the type of protein you need right after a workout.

If you can afford two and want to see slightly better results, pick up a WHEY POWDER and CASEIN or MICELLAR PROTEIN POWDER. You would take the casein or micellar protein powder at night time because it releases slowly.

Forget about the soy protein, egg protein, and all that other stuff, its good but unnecessary.
