Exercise will tone muscles and the energy used will reduce body fat. But exercise can't do anything for excess skin that was originally taut over the body fat you've now lost. If it's really a problem, see a doctor and ask if you can have a tummy tuck. Surgery will remove the excess skin and join the edges of the skin remaining so that it is smooth against the muscles and outlines your new shape.

I've just lost nearly 6stone (84lbs) over a five month period. I feel great, look heaps better, but I have baggy wrinkly skin on the inside of my thighs and some (not a lot) on the inside of my upper arms. I can live with this because it isn't a massive amount and doesn't flap about or look too unsightly. Nobody except me's going to see the inside of my thighs, anyway!

But over your stomach, if there is an appreciable amount of loose skin, removing it is really the only permanent answer.

wimsey
situps and crunches EVERYDAY i have the same prob and im only 5 ft tall at 104 lbs but the skin onmy tummy is so lose everyone thinks i had kids bc i have mad stretch marks so i have to do alot of ab exersises just to keep the skin toned
Lose skin could be a symptom of losing weight too quickly. You should lose no more than a pound or two a week to ensure this does not happen. People how lose weight rapidly tend to have this problem. I would suggest a strict weight training and cardio regimen as well as diet. If I were you I would take this a little more seriously and hit the gym more than 2 times a week. I would be going like 5-6 times a week!! Try weight training M-W-F and cardio training T-Th-Sa or Sun. Good Luck.
I'm sorry to tell you this but exercise won't reduce your excess skin.
It will go away in due course.

Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%.

Chew each morsel at least 32 times. Do not touch articles of food or the cutlery in between. This will activate ur body to generate strong signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals.

Take light exercises and brisk walks (minimum 20 min duration) regularly preferably twice a day.

U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time. Do not be in a hurry. It is however to be noted that one cannot change the shape or size of different parts of the body.
I used to hate rigorous workouts but I was also so sick with my fat body especially my pot belly and big butt. Thank god, once I met a new friend in a family gathering and he told me a very good site that I later found so helpful. The site taught me great workouts and diet tips and showed me what I had been doing wrong to address my fat body problem... Here is the good thing you might wanna to check out more. Good luck!
