Why you are not supposed to weight yourself everyday? what is wrong with that?
Question:
Answers:
It's mainly a motivational thing, weight can fluctuate from day to day, and can be depressing if you've been trying to lose weight and find that you've gained a pound or two from the previous day, it's normal, but can be depressing.
nothing at all?
Because then you get paranoid.
Because you can become obsessed with it. Probably best to do it once a week.
You aren't supposed to weigh yourself everyday because your weight fluctuates.
If you weigh yourself every week it will seem like you've made more progress or even every month.
The worry with weighing yourself every day is you might get weight obsessed.
It is okay for some people and not okay for other people. Some people may get upset if the scale shows a higher number if they are retaining water. Also, people who are trying to lose weight may get frustrated if the weight is not going down as fast as they expected.
You retaine water and the body will do this to protect itself, plus when you weigh yourself everyday, at different times during the day, the weight will be a pound or two off you normal weight. The real way to tell is by the clothes you wear, are they getting tighter or feel loose. Don't be so anal about if your a pound or two over you normal weight, could be water, you could have gained a pound of muscle (which weights more than fat)
well since this is such a vague question,i am guessing you are asking because you are trying to lose weight and are wanting to weigh yourself to see how much you have lost.if that's the case than i have this to say: go ahead and weigh yourself but don't get caught up in the whole "i've lost ---pounds this week!" discussion. you will lose pounds but what the real goal should be is losing inches.
I think it is a good idea to weigh yourself every day.
I had gastric bypass in 2002 and my doctor said not to weigh ourselves everyday because we would become discouraged if we didn't lose a ton of weight every day. That is probably the main reason why. (I ended up losing 120 pounds total)
the reason is very simple,u r not going to gain or lose weight in pounds or kgs in a day. but if u check, u may observe variations from time to time in day, it may depend on ur diat, body activity, daily routine and all. this is purely volatile..but the real body mass is not going to be affected(even by half a kg) whtever methords u use to gain ot lose weight .
a better way will be to check ur weight once in a week. to know the aproximate changes in a much accurate fasion, do it at the exact time of the day as the previous week provided ur daily routine remains the same as of previous week. u will come to know how much u gain or lose in the last test week.. hope this will help..
Nothing at all. As long as you understand that weight fluctuates as much as several pounds from one day to the next depending on hydration, elimination, when and what you ate.
