Losing weight without exercise?

I usually exercise quite a bit (2-3 hours a day), but I have an ankle injury, so it makes it really hard for me to do any cardio whatsoever. I've put on some weight since I've been injured, and I need to drop it. Any suggestions?

I have found one of the easiest ways to lose weight without exercise is to follow these nutritional guidelines:

- Eat lean sources of protein at each of your three meals and any snacks you have (ideally 3 snacks fit between meals).
- Eat huge amounts of high-fiber veggies at lunch and dinner.
- Eat a piece of fruit with main meals only.
- Cut out all juice, soft drinks or any other drinks containing sugar.
- Cut out all grains...period.
-Drink at least 10 cups of water (2.5 litres)
-Allow yourself one day to eat absolutely anything you want (keep drinking your water).

Unfortunately, without exercise, your nutrition must be that much tighter to lose the fat.

You might think about trying this book called "The Movie Star Diet" by Steve Simmons. It helped me lose thirty pounds in 2 1/2 months when I didn't think anything would work. My goal to begin with was only 20 lbs! It has a really easy plan to follow.
Just try to drop about 500 calories from your daily intake. For example if your body only needs 1500 calories to maintain the current weight. Then start eating around 1000-1200 calories a day. Since 1 pound=3500 calories, you can lose a pound a week by dropping 500 calories a day.
I think swimming is your best bet - the water will make your ankle seem lighter and less painful. Plus, swimming uses the arms motre than the legs - it is your arms that propell you forward (unless you are doing breast stroke). It will give you a really good all over body workout without straining your ankle.
