How do you discipline yourself to stick to a routine?

Question:
I wanna exercise more, red and learn more, but find it hard fitting into my spare time and then just tend to 'bum' about, any ideas on sticking to a routine to get 'healthy' things done in your day. much love

Answers:
i have the same feeling of not enough time.. i go to the gym 5 days a week, and on the days that i find myself sitting on the couch "bumming around", i think about how if i had not gotten off the couch the day before, that i would be 1 day further away from my fitness goals, then i tell myself to get up and go.. getting there is sometimes the hardest part. once i am at the gym, if i still feel lazy, i know i am going to be there for an hour either way, so i make that hour count and work hard.. then i go home with the satisfaction of knowing i am better for going to the gym rather than lazyness getting the best of me.. days like this actually motivate me to go back to the gym the following day and work harder.. its all about discipline. set some realistic goals for yourself and then achieve.. just wanting to exercise more is good, but why are you doing it? have a purpose behind it, this may help you to keep motivated. good luck
maybe f you take half hour and just sit down with a pen and plan out how to spend your time, fitting activities around your job, etc etc.

The hardest part is sticking to it. lol. You just have to be tough on yourself to get results
Sounds like you are doing too much at once. Try one thing only, and get used to it before you introduce another change into your routine.
Make a schedule and follow it. Make the time scheduled for exercising and reading just as important as anything else on your schedule, like if you had an appointment. Use a day organizer or put the schedule on your refrigerator, so you see it regularly and just make yourself follow it.

I also like to make lists and be able to check things off as I complete them. It just helps to see that I have actually accomplished something for the day.
im a mother of 2 girls, im trying to study a home course and try to excersise in my spare time , ive had 2 nervous breakdowns,(not litterally) but i cant concentrate on anything, ive given up excersing and on the verge of giving up my course, all i can offer to you is what i keep saying to myself, "dont give up", do a bit at a time, spread things out , make a rota but keep it small and easy, take time out of house go for long walks to clear your head and its a good workout if you walk fast and uphills, good luck, go easy on your self. life is for enjoying not stressing.
Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%. Chew each morsel at least 32 times to activate ur body to generate signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals.

Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly preferably twice a day.

U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time. Do not be in a hurry. It is however to be noted that one cannot change the shape or size of different parts of the body.
