Without heavy exercise, and only reducing caloric intake by half, can weight be lost?
Question:
Answers:
Yes, but you will see a lowering of your metobolic rate if you eat a restricted calorie diet alone.. meaning you'll need to really restrict over a significant period of time to see notable results. Most persons who diet without including additional exercise tend to expend fewer calories than they did while eating a higher calorie diet.
However, if you maintain a moderate amount of activity (regular walking and movement), then a restricted calorie diet can result in a moderate amount of weight loss.
yes you can. but you will get better results and more rapid weight loss if you exercise. it will also help you look more toned. its up to you! but yes cutting calories WILL help you lose weight.
u will see SOME changes, but dont expect miracles. You have to work hard to expect great changes
Yes, you can, I don't know what your current caloric intake is but if you reduce your required amount of calories by 500 per day, your body will pull those 500 calories from stored fat. 7 days x 500 cals= 3500 cals= 1 lb per week
start by determining how many calories you should consume each day. To do so, you need to know how many calories you need to maintain your current weight. Doing this requires a few simple calculations.
First, multiply your current weight by 15 — that’s roughly the number of calories per pound of body weight needed to maintain your current weight if you are moderately active. Moderately active means getting at least 30 minutes of physical activity a day in the form of exercise (walking at a brisk pace, climbing stairs, or active, physical gardening). Let’s say you’re a woman who is 5 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds, and you need to lose about 15 pounds to put you in a healthy weight range. If you multiply 150 by 15, you will get 2,250, which is the number of calories per day that you need in order to maintain your current weight (weight-maintenance calories). To lose weight, you will need to get below that total. For example, to lose one to two pounds a week — a rate that experts consider safe — your food consumption should provide 500–1,000 calories less than your total weight-maintenance calories. If you need 2,250 calories a day to maintain your current weight, reduce your daily calories to 1,250–1,750. If you are sedentary, you will also need to build more activity into your day. In order to lose at least a pound a week, try to do at least 30 minutes of physical activity on most days, and reduce your daily calorie intake by at least 500 calories. However, calorie intake should not fall below 1,200 a day in women, or 1,500 a day in men, except under the supervision of a health professional. Eating too few calories can endanger your health by depriving you of needed nutrients.
yes. body needs 2500 kcal average. but if you reduce intake the body burns stored fat. have seen those somalia people who were starving. but without exercise loosing weight will speed up aging. do exercise like an hour walk to get rid of 500 kcal. it is not distance covered but the time spent walking that matters. i speak from experience. read it here http://looseweightfree.blogspot.com...
Like everyone else has said - YES! You can lose weight by restricting. There is a diet that is used by medical professionals for obese patients. It is called the VLCD (very low calorie diet). Basically it restricts you to 900 calories a day and the results are rapid weight loss.
I have personally done this (after both my children) and it has worked wonderfully - with very little exercise. 900 calories does not seem like a lot, but when you include low calorie foods as well as raw foods (fresh veggies) you end up actually consuming quite a bit.
diet is the best way to lose weight. diet alone is 10 times better than exercise alone. don't cut your calories in half right away. that will shock your body too much. drop your calories little by little. if your eating 2500 calories a day right now drop it to 2200, then 10 days later drop it to 2000 and so on.
I used to eat a lot and hated rigorous exercises. Luckily a friend of mine told me this very good site that I found really helpful. It gave me great diet tips and workouts. It also showed me what I was doing wrong before... With using only their diet tips, I could easily lose 10 lbs in the first week :). I can eat healthily now and play workouts that I like to keep my body shape. Thanks so much to such a helpful site. Try it!

Hi,
I've tried so many different diets in the last 10 years that I can say now, they don't work!
A few months ago, I came across a great product for weight loss and like many others I was skeptical about it. But I really wanted to lose weight and I tried it. The results were excellent and I lost 20 pounds in 2 months. I felt fantastic and I dropped another 5 pounds safely. That's why I recommend you check this product at http://www.get2itnow.info where they have a free trial and you only pay 4.95$ shipping and handling.
Good luck!
