Tuna in a can healthy?

Question:
I need as much protein as I can before the day ends. Part of my protein intake comes from tuna in a "can". I go through about 2 CANS of tuna a day. My mom keeps yelling at me because she said that anything that's in a can isn't healthy, but I looked at the ingrediants and there was only tuna and water. No preservatives. Please help me get this problem off my mind. Thank you

Answers:
Look for tuna that says no dolphins were harmed, or no mercury, or added omega-3's or something like that. Tuna is pretty healthy no matter what. Canned meat is usually pretty ok, just make sure it's packed in water, NOT OIL!
there is nothing wrong with eating raw tuna from a can. My 11yr old eats it like that all the time and he's never gotten sick or anything, tell your mom to relax a little and not to stress over the little things.
Tuna in a can is healthy. Just don't leave it in the fridge in an opened can as it can rust and you could ingest toxins. GO TUNA!!
Noooooooo! These people are wrong! You should eat AT MOST 1 can of tuna per day for a 200 pound adult. The reason is that tuna has a high level of mercury in it, which can lead to mercury poisoning. Also, you shouldn't just suddenly bring tuna into your diet, try doing about 2-3 cans a week at most at first, then gradually go up to a can a day at max.
