How many calories does your body loose on its own daily?

Question:
i know that if you want to loose weight, you need to burn more calories then you intake. does that mean i have to burn 2000 calories a day just to cancel out what ive eaten? that would be really hard.

Answers:
Your basal metabolic rate, also known as your resting metabolic rate is based primarily on your lean mass.

Here is a link to estimating yours.

your body burns at least 1,000 calories a day doing nothing. Look it up on the net...it's called resting metabolic rate.
Your body burns around 1500 calories a day on its own.

Additional Information:
Standing for an hour burns 150 calories.
A basic rule of thumb is to multiply your weight by 15. 15 calories for every pound of weight is how many calories your body needs just to keep organs running. Anything you burn off over and above that goes toward weight loss. Of course that number can change according to muscle mass, muscle weighs more and burns more calories than fat.
