Is it a good diet plan? So far it is working?

Question:
I am doing very well on my diet so far.For breakfast, since I am always late,& just running out the door,I drink a lite & fit smoothie which only has 60 cal, sometimes I pair that with a 1/2 cup of dry cereal w/fiber. I try & keep it in a baggy in my purse or car,if I get the munchies instead of hitting the drive thru. For lunch I often have a whole wheat pita and tuna (in water) and a string cheese stick. I am completly satisfied, I feel full.Dinner i try and keep lite because I get home at about 8 at night, sometimes its steamed veggies or a lite salad.I try and eat small snacks during the day(about every 2 hrs) Sometimes its fresh fruit, carrots and other times its a cheese stick and a handful of crackers.I try to drink 3 20oz. bottles of water a day as well.On the weekends I grill chicken or salmon sometimes steak and have veggies or salad, and every now a baked potato. All of the condiments I try and keep lite as well Does this seem like a good diet plan?

Answers:
It sounds pretty healthy. I can't really evaluate it without the total calorie count and your current height and weight. The best yardstick to use is how much weight you are losing. If you are only losing two pounds a week, it's OK. But if you are consistently losing 3 or 4 pounds or more, it's not OK. That would mean your calorie consumption is low enough that you body may be cannibalizing some of your muscles and major organ tissues. But it sounds like a really good diet.
That does sound like a good diet to me, the only part you may want to consider revising is the cheese stick part. Granted a cheese stick doesn't have a lot of calories but cheese in general is loaded with Saturated fat which isn't good for you and you want to try and get as little as possible of that.

If you are losing the weight then that is very good. However you didn't mention what your current height and weight is. Without that info I can't really say whether your current diet is healthy or not. Try to lose between 1-3 lb's per week. That is pretty much the norm for healthy weight loss.
