Is it healthy to run everyday ?

Question:

You can certainly run every day, but I don't know that I would accept that running hard every day is the best thing you can do for your body. At least one day a week you should either take it easy (a gentle jog or even just a walk) or even just relax and do none. Here's why:

Your body needs a little bit of "down time" to rest and recouperate. Working out does put a strain on your muscles and ligaments. Most of that strain is good -- builds and strengthens muscles and bones.

But not all of the strain is good, and your body needs at least one day a week to help heal all those tiny strains during the week, before they become a problem.

Exercise is definitely good for the body -- no two ways about that. But do give yourself a break so your body can perform its best.
yes it's healthy to run everyday and get your heart pumping and keeps you fit. Just don't overdo it. =D
Sure.

Unlike weight resistance or weight-bearing exercises, whose purpose is to stress various muscle groups until you can't do another rep, running is pretty much pure cardio, which you can repeat as often as you like.

If you see signs of body stress--aching feet, ankles, knees, or hips--that suggests your body wants the rest. But if you can do it without negative effect, and want to keep on doing it, there's no reason not to.
Yes it is but that depends where your jogging/ running cause if you run where the air is very polluted it could affect your lungs
Keep this in mind.

You never want to have to say to your orthopedic surgeon "Doc my knee hurt Saturday and Sunday I ran 10K on it and today I can't walk."

Sometimes it's just best to take a breather. Imagine your fitness as a pile of sand you are building handfulll by handfull. If the pile has a little blown off it by the wind of a few days of rest you have little to worry about if you know you are going to be replenishing it soon.
yes it is healthy to run everyday because when you run blood circulation becomes faster. When you have finished running you must eat proper diet also. Its not like that when you run you become healthy and beacuse of that after running you get hungry so you must eat lot of food.Nutritious food.
no it is not most running experts suggest at least on day off per week for the body to recover.

ever heard the term too much of a good thing is bad. well even though running is good for you not taking a day off is bad you will end up with injuries.

Most of the experts say one day off minimum but think 2 days off are better. it doesnt mean you cant train on those days just not running. do some weight trainning or swimming, bike ridding.

go to runners world web site they have multiple articles about the need for a day off
