Is there such a thing as "fat camp" for adults?

They exist but are extremely expensive and therefore only available for the wealthy. Nevertheless, you really shouldn't have to go to such extremes to lose weight. There is so much information you can find for free these days on the internet and via asking people who know about the subject.
Honestly, to lose weight for good, you have to do the research and learn the facts on your own. Don't rely on people to give you the answers, seek them out with your own research via answers like here, personal trainers, forums, books, people with personal experience.
The thing with a fat camp is that you will probably lose weight there, but are they going to teach your the basic of maintaining a healthy lifestyle? Probably not, they are probably going to work you to death and then you'll get results, but your be going back a year later after you gained back the weight because you were not taught how to keep that weight off for good (e.g. - a healthy lifestyle vs. a "diet" that you follow until you lose your weight).
Obviously, a gym membership is a step in the right direction. You have to stick with your plans though and be patient, wait loss isn't done instantly. It takes time to burn off fat.
I can totally give you free advice here and right now. Learn to cook for yourself (because eating out is VERY unhealthy - even if your are ordering on the "low-fat" menu it's probably loaded with sodium so your risking high blood pressure), don't fry anything, use no salt seasoning (Ms. Dash), load up on veggies (You can't see enough of them - especially superfoods like Brocholli and Spanich), don't eat carbs at night, eat 4-5 small meals a day evenly spread out throughout the day, ditch sodas and anything carbonated completely out of your life for good (I'm serious...this will work wonders), eat a high protien, low fat, moderate carb diet (Your going to have to learn how to correctly pick meat cuts at the store), ditch caffenine for good (I've worked 100 hours weeks without caffeine, I know people can live without it), sleep at least 8 hours a night (If you aren't getting enough sleep, your going to gain fat), keep your workouts intense (No easy workouts...you have to overload your muscles and force them to grow if your an adult).
As for a personal trainer. You might want to probe them for questions. A good personal trainer will want to track EVERYTHING about you, not only what your workouts are...but what are you eating everyday, how your sleeping, what the rest of your lifestyle is like, what your stress levels are, and what your morale level is. A good personal trainer will track all of this and ask you everytime you meet with him/her. I highly suggest you chose a trainer tha same gender as yourself because there is a BIG difference in men's and women's training (e.g. - Women have to deal with periods and it's very helpful to have a women who understands this) If they aren't doing this, I suggest you ditch them and find one that does.
You may hate a lot of this stuff now, but I know personally I can't even eat greezy or fried foods anymore. My body is so used to healthy eating it literally rejects bad food with a vengence (e.g. - I get very sick).

I haven't heard of a "fat camp" for adults but if you do, let me know.
I have been struggling with my weight and the best thing that ever happened to me was weight watchers.
The only thing that I regret was joing sooner.
If money is a factor, join for 2-3 months/ You will realize that it is worth it and you will know enough about the program to do it yourself!
Yes they exist - they are very expensive.

You are better off hiring a personal trainer at your gym.
There are places like that for adults but the only ones I know of are extremely expensive. There's one at Duke University and one at the Cooper Center in Dallas.
