You sound like you are at a healthy weight, but if you want to tone up & lose weight here are some ideas.

To stay healthy & not get discouraged remember this:
It is not recommended that you lose more than 2-3 pounds per week. Rapid weight loss can be dangerous & is hard to maintain. losing weight is difficult because 1 lb is 3000 calories, so you must burn 3000 calories per pound you want to lose.

To maintain a healthy lifestyle & get back to the size you want to be try this:

Lots of Cardio & weight training. do 30-45 minutes of strength training 3-4 times per week followed by 45-50 minutes of cardio 5-6 times per week. do your strength training 1st, it burns more calories. I also do loads of crunches prior to & after cardio. Also walk more during the day. Take a walk on your lunch break, walk to the store, aim for 10,000 steps per day a pedomiter is a great idea. The more active you are the more calories you will burn & the more weight you will lose.

That being said, never underestimate the power of a good diet (by diet I do not mean fad diet, I mean healthy eating) Try making small changes, if you really love a certain food that is ok, just cut down your portions, you don't need to deprive yourself to be healthy.

Try to cut down on your calories, eat lean protein, and whole grains - bread is not bad, so long as it is whole grain & high in fiber, also eat your veggies & drink lots of water. It is best to eat 1200-1500 calories per day, if you eat less than this your metabilism will slow down, making it harder to lose weight. NO fast food, no soft drinks (diet or regular) no eating unless you are hungery.

You're only 12 years old. Such drastic weight loss is not recommended for someone so young. Besides, you're tall..144 doesn't sound like a bad weight for your height.
well, if u really feel u need to lose weight, then first start w/ creating an eating schedule. eat every 3-4 hours, and drink a gallon of water a day. also strive for 45 min daily cardio and strength training. building muscle will strengthen ur bones, and burn fat faster. since u will be eating at set times, it will be harder to cheat (so long as u keep to the schedule, and don't deviate from it), because u no u will be eating again soon, and ur portions will be smaller, because it will be difficult to eat so much so often.
Just eat only complex carbs, lean meat, and lots of veggies. It will make your meals low caloried and yet filling and healthy.

Do brisk walking. They are great for burning body and tummy fats.

I am on low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein and a hour brisk walk 5 times a week, and I have lost 31lbs and gain better health. I am now maintaining my 108lbs for more than a year.
