I'm always tired and drowsy, is there any way I can be more alert and energetic without caffiene?
Question:
Answers:
I found when I increased my water intake, lowered my caffeine intake, and exercised for 30 minutes (even just walking) my energy improved at least 40 %. When I stopped eating junk food and started eating healthier snacks my energy increased at least another 30 %, it's not a quick fix, but one day at a time and you'll see a huge difference in just a week :)
crystal meth
Update: What's wrong with my answer? Crystal meth would indeed do it.
take a vitamin every morning it helps me. stress will make you tired and drowsy if you are under any stress.
Well it could be a few things, so lets see what applies to you.
If you eat unhealthy foods, your bound to be more tired. So eat some healthy foods including fresh veggies and protien.
Take a multivitamin.
Get some exercise, ever heard of the phrase "the more you do, the more you can do"
A 20 minute walk a day can you leave you feeling energised for hours.
It may just be depression as well.
Only you know yourself so hopefully one of these applies to you and you can get your self some energy.
hmm...or sleep apnea.or low thyroid.
Drink more water..it works for me
WORKOUT !!!
Work up a sweat and believe it or not you will have more energy later in the day. Maybe not after your first good sweat but after a week you'll start feeling more alive
Yes, take multivitamins and maybe replace a meal with a healthy meal shake. It is packed with vitamins, minerals, herbs, antioxidants and fiber. Eating right and exercising will make a big difference. Try LIFTOFF , it does have caffeine in it, about the same in a cup of coffee but it will last most of the day.
Avoiding caffiene is a good start... caffeine is a short term boost... but the more you drink... the more tired you get as it saps you of nutrients. The answer is three fold..
1. you are missing nutrients... plain and simple. When your body is missing something it can't perform optimally. A quick fix is B12 & Bcomplex vitamins along with a general multi-vitamin. But you really want to get your nutrients from food. So eat more fruits and vegetables... and yes... drinking more water is usually a good idea too
2. some foods are anti-nutritional - not just caffiene, but things like potato chips, soft drinks, even so-called "healthy" drinks like Jamba juices which are full of sugar... short term high, then a crash. Avoid all candy... and even white flour foods like regular pasta and white bread. A diet high in bad-carbs and sugars will sap you of energy.
3. exercise... even just a 20 minute walk... will give you energy. Ever notice that a full day on the couch only makes you even more tired?
No exercise, lack of good food combined with eating bad food... and you won't sleep right either... further exacerbating your problem. Alcohol can also inhibit sleep, and sleeping pills don't allow for "quality" sleep.
I've stopped taking vitamins and now drink a low-sugar, high-nutrient fruit juice that includes the Acai Berry (all the rage these days)... it's help me sleep better, and has given me more energy throughout the day. But as good as the juice has been for me... if I drink alcohol, stop exercising, and eat really bad food or drink too much caffiene... my energy will lapse too. Lack of energy is all about lack of nutrients and exercise.
Eat properly and drink heaps of water
