Does adding hot(scalding) water to protein shakes cause the nutrients to be ineffective?
Question:
Answers:
No, the notion that heat will make the proteins ineffective is a total myth. Think about it...if that were the case then a piece of cooked chicken, eggs, fish, or steak would just be a waste of protein and not do anything for the body. Nonsense.
It is true that heat denatures proteins which means it "unravels" proteins from their bound up state...kind of like unraveling a ball of yarn. Your body takes these proteins and breaks them down even further into their individual pieces called amino acids (the building blocks of proteins) and uses those for muscle repair/building.
Extreme temps (cold or hot) can disrupt the protein structure. So yes, you may want to add warm water instead of scalding hot.
That's not true
you put SCALDING water in a shake? why not just luke warm or lightly heated? lol but your good with your lava drink you're still getting the stuff you should
