keep running, work on ur leg, and at the sametime try to reduce ur body weight.
Build up your leg muscles, this is a great way to gain speed and agility on the foot ball field, also just try running on a track and time yourself, and see how fast you can run a mile, then try it over and see if you inproved. I can run a mile in 6 min 2 seconds, probably faster if I sprint all the way. But depending on your position you need to work out and gain muscle in your legs and your arms
Sprints. Get your calves working they do all the work. I do track and field and we always work out the calves and leg muscles. Do sprints, and leg lifts up. Jog for 30 mins, or walk for 1 hour. It helps a lot. And make sure when you run that you use your arms effectively. Don't wave them around you use a lot more energy. And run on your tippy toes. When you step down your whole foot should notbe touching the ground, just the front part. This makes you go fastttt..Good luck!
=)
just get some five pound ankle weigts. wear them around during daily activities.. wear them during football season too. take them off before practice though you dont want to strain yourself
You need to work on your fast twitch muscles. So doing things such as running for long periods of time wont help. Practice sprinting, if you can find a nice hill that would be even better.
Nothing fancy. Running steps helps. Also running up hills or on rough land can help. My cousin is a great cross country runner and thats what he does. Also keep healthy and try to avoid energy drinks like Red Bull because they can activate cramps and make knees and ankles sore. Also try jogging/fastwalking in shallow pool, it helps build leg muscle. I did this in football. Can help anyone from linemen to receivers. Good luck.
I WAS ABOUT TO POST THIS SAME QUESTION!
Two things: diet and exercise. Don't over-eat. Try to stay away from junk and deep-fried food. Practicing by running is essential. Also, getting the blood flowing by doing sit-ups is a plus. Don't eat past 8pm. Right when you wake up eat something light- for you I'd recommend apples to get the extra energy. Hope that helps!!
