Am i working out too much? any suggestions?

Question:
im 24 and about 6'0 and i weight around 175 lbs... my goal is to get up to around 200 lbs... i work out 5 days a week. on mondays i do my chest, shoulders, and triceps. on tuesday i do my back and biceps. on wednesdays i do my legs. then on thursdays i repeat monday and on friday i repeat tuesday and take saturday and sunday off. i only work my legs one day a week. each body part i work i do 4 to 5 excersizes. is this too much or should i work one body part a day? ive been doing this now for about 4 months and ive gained about 5 lbs and im in much better shape than before i started. i just dont want to over do it if i am. id really like to use my time at the gym effectively. also i do not do any cardio someone suggested running on the treadmill for half an hour everyday and it will help me lose body fat and make me more lean... i havent started because im afraid it will make me lose weight... any suggestions here also? any help will be much appreciated and thanks in advance!

I've recently learned that in your first year of lifting, you will make the greatest gains. It sounds like you are doing well, but it is probably time to switch it up. I actually read an articel by an IFBB competitor that she saw greater gains with switching (for a few months) to each muscle group once a week.

Make sure to switch up your routine and exercise choice every 4-5 months. You don't want your body to get used to it.

For the person who suggested cardio once a day. Don't listen to them. That is the quickest way to hault your gains. Sometimes your body can't distinquish between fat and muscle (when it comes to burning it for fuel).

If you want to do cardio a few times a week, make sure to do it in the morning before breakfast. BUT make sure to drink a protein shake so your body will use that as fuel, rather than your muscles.

If you eat properly and lift regularly, you can skimp on cardio.
Since I started to work out I was looking for a good weight loss product. I was on a diet but I felt that I needed a little "help" so I decided to try this great product and I had fantastic results. You can check their website at
