Honey...yes. She is WAY to young to be in bad health. The only thing about it is, you dont want to lose a friend becasue she is heavy. Maybe offer to walk with her or swim with her. But telling her she needs to go on a diet isn't such a great idea. chances are, her family is trying to help her but there isn't anything anyone can do FOR her. She has to want to be healthy.

yes. but not a "DIET" it is too complicated and stressful for any 11year old to do without FREAKING OUT.
so my advice is tell "your friend" to eat whenever she is HUNGRY, and to eat only healthy foods. when she CRAVES something tell her to LEAVE the kitchen or even go outside and walk around the block and take a water bottle..chug it and the craving should be gone.
exercise or be active for at least 30minnutes a day, enough to get a nice sweat!
