Answers:
you don't need to diet at your age just eat less sugar and fat then get more excercise and the weight will melt off quickly
NO - just exercise, play sports, get off the couch more, walk even
to be cruel to be kind yeah gal but have confidence in urself first before going though with it,think of the benfits and rewards after. know u can do it so just do it :) goodluck
if youre going through youre period or overwieght if not i wouldnt nessecarally diet i would excercize never as a child crash diet
you sounds like a nice girl. dont worry about the people who pick on you!... cuz would you want to be friends with them anyways? NO. well you are too young to be going on a diet now by yourself... ask your parent/parents and a doctor about this. if you were so overweight then i would think something would have been done about it already but what matters is what you want and everyone deserves to feel happy about their own body... so maybe if you go to your doctor he/she could give u a list of things to do, maybe excersises and a list of stuff not to eat anymore...
Try takeing a walk once a day also no sugar or soda and no bread also drink lots of water and dont starve yourself please. You'll do fine just keep it up.
Not sure what the difference in stones and pounds are but a 12 yr old should be eating good healthy meals and some exercise. Try swimming, jogging, walking. Try to stay way from the junk foods and eat lots of veggies for energy. Ask your parents to take you to the doctor and explain to him/her what you are looking to do. Good luck
Don't stress. You're still young and your body is still growing. The best thing right now is to cut out junk foods and excessive sweets. Think- eat healthy- not that you need to diet. Find a sport that interests you and join up at school.
Hi Abbi,
I think at 12 you are too young to be "dieting" but if you want to slim down, then you need to watch what you eat. First, make sure you drink lots of water. Not only is it good for you, it's good for your skin, and teeth. Water will flush out impurities and give your skin a glow to it. Juice isn't so bad for you, but it does have sugar in it, which is not healthy for teeth. Try to eat fruit and veggies when possible. Make a conscious effort to pick the fruit over candy. It is hard sometimes but your body will thank you. Try to cut out all fast food (which in my humble opinion shouldn't be called "food"). You will notice as you stop eating junk and drinking soda your body will cry for it, but keep it up after a while you will no longer desire it.
Exercise is very important, keep active, ride your bike, take a walk with a friend, don't go by yourself, nowhere is safe and friends are better to talk too than yourself.
I think eating right and exercising will help you alot and keep you much healthier in the long run. Good luck sweetie!
There is never a wrong time to start eating healthy and exercising. It's always good to try to cut out the junk (burgers, fries, shakes, packaged/processed foods) and add the healthy stuff in its place (whole grains, legumes/beans, veggies, good fats like peanut butter or other nuts, etc.)

If you make healthier choices and try to work more physical activity into your daily routine, you can lose some weight, but even better, you may lose some of the excess inches that are far worse than excess pounds.

I don't strive to be a certain weight because, for me, weight isn't a very good measure of fitness or of how good my body looks. What's more important is body fat percentage. You can be 130 lbs and 35% body fat (that's more than 45 lbs of fat to about 84 pounds of lean) or, you could be the exact same 130 lbs and a healthier 20% body fat (only 26 lbs fat and 104 lbs of lean.) You'll definitely feel strong and healthy, and have a nicer looking body with 20 more lbs of muscle! In this example, weight really doesn't matter.

Lean mass takes up less space than fat, so you will be thinner, even at the same weight. Additionally, you get to eat more everyday because muscle needs more calories than fat.

It's important to remember that getting that 20 lbs of muscle means that you still need to eat. Don't starve yourself. And, you need to fit in some activity--no couch potatoes :)

Good luck!
