Forget the "cleansing therapy" - which is really just a series of enemas. The weight you "lose" is simply the contents of your bowels along with a lot of water, so you have acdtually NOT lost any real weight at all!! As you as you eat and drink, you will gain it all back. (Plus you risk inducing electrolyte imbalance in your blood, especially bicarbonate.)
Suggestions:
1.) No carbohydrates (breads, pizza, potatoes, sugar, candy) - Don't worry, your body can convert fat and protein to the necessary carbohydates; that is WHY our bodies store fat!
2.) Eat a lot of LETTUCE, but do not have just a lettuce salad for a meal - throw in a can of tuna (in water, not oil) or something else; NO mayonnaise!! A plain lettuce salad is not fulfilling. Your body (actually hunger centers in your brain) craves carbohydrates, but this cravinng will lessen the longer you avoid them.
3.) Other vegetables - cooked or uncooked; but NO carbohydrates (e.g., potatoes)
4.) Start with SMALLER, more frequent meals (4 per day). You want your stomach, which sends feedback to your brain, to get used to smaller meals. In time, your stomach will send back "I am full." signals to your brain even after you have eaten a very small meal.
5.) NEVER eat a large meal - NOT even one! You will "undo" #4 above.
6.) No snacks - never! (The calories add up.)
7.) Stick with this diet - eat a LOT of LEAN MEATS and FISH and VEGETABLES -- as much as you want, but in SMALL portions - see #4 and #5 above
It make take several weeks to a month to get used to this diet, but you WILL get used to it and NOT feel hungry !!
Losing weight is ALL about eating fewer calories! Everything else is nonsense! (Exercise will help, but you have to exercise for hours to lose 200-300 calories. Your body burns about 1700 calories per day, even if you don't move a muscle.)
