Workout question?


Question:
I work out a few times a wk...i tend to do cardio first on an eplitical machine first to get that out of the way for 30-45 mins. Then i'll do my free weights and work out difference parts for different days. My question: is one more effective than another when it comes to doing weights first or cardio first in the same workout?

Answers:
I'm not sure really, but when I first joined my gym, they told me that it was best to do your 15-30 min cardio then do your weights and then do another 15-30 min cardio.
I, personally, do 30 minute cardio and then weights and that's it. Sometimes I'll go on an hour bike ride after my workout.
I've lost 10 lbs, so far, in 1 month!
I've heard different opinions but none seemed to say that it made a huge difference either way.

Why not switch it up and see if you see different results doing it one way over the other way?

I would think that cardio first would be better because it would get your blood pumping. Plus weights (not that it's wimpy work or anything) are more of a laid back type or a workout.

it is better to do weights first then cardio, the reason is because when you do weights you want your body to be able to work at its maximum potential, this gives you better results and you actually will burn more calories because you can go harder. Plus it is good for conditioning to do cardio when you are tired becuase your lungs will get a better work out!

Note: i forgot to mention but always do a 5 min warm up before doing weights...a great one is skipping! you will see great results from that alone!
Oh and if you are not working out every day then you can do a full body work out every second day. You said you work out a couple times a week, so I assume not back to back, thats the only reason people do seperate body parts on certian days is if they work out back to back
see here is the thing people workout on diffrent parts on diffrent days.workout all your mucles for 2 hours for the whole week then next week rest so that your mulcles can form
you are doing great just change the routine when you get bored.
When I go to gym I start with 10 min on cross trainer to get warned up then do 1/2 hr of weights. on every second day do 1 hr of cardio. I have read somewhere that it is better to do weight training then cardio.
