Please Help- i need tips on becoming a vegetarian!?
Question:
Thanks! i appreciate all your answers!

Lots of vegetables and not a lot of bad carbs. I cook a small pan of veggies at night and eat those in place of the meat. (I cut up asapargus, squash, zuccini (sp) and whatever else I feel like throwing in there). Turn the pan on low, add some olive oil and fresh garlic and only cook a few minutes (you still want them to be crunchy so they don't loose all of their nutrients). Have a lot of veggies cut up and in the refrigerator so there are no excuses. I am just getting started on this too.
Look in the Food & Drink category...there's a sub there for Vegetarian & Vegan. I'm sure those folks can steer ya to some good books or websites that'll give you helpful information.
my sister was a vegetarian during her teen years. she is the only short person in my family (we are 5 kids) and her hair started falling bad. I wouldn't recommend going vegetarian, but if you do don't go extreme, maybe keep on eating fish and salmon which can give you nutrients.
Dont ever go extreme vegan (those who do not eat milk derivate).
You are going to need supplements. Because there is no place as good to get protein than meat.
About your family they are always going to be iffy about your decision, but they'll learn to accept it. My dad is in the meat industry and my sis went vegan, harder than that you can get. At the end my dad would pay her to eat a piece of chicken haha.
Good luck!
i was at one time a pesco vegetarian, and i started off by first cutting out red meat. then i went to only eatting fish. its a great way to lost weight,(along with excersize).
